Answers:
Explain the lead carpenter system to me.
At Bella Construction our project management
style is known as a “Lead Carpenter System”.
Under the Lead Carpenter System, all of the work on
a project from start to finish is produced and coordinated
by a single Lead Carpenter. Each Lead Carpenter is an
expert in all phases of home improvement and remodeling
work from foundation to finish carpentry. All of our
Lead Carpenters are able to do framing, insulation,
drywall, roofing, siding, painting, trim carpentry,
ceramic tile, and cabinet work.
We always hire subcontractors to do electrical, plumbing,
and heating work, since these trades require a separate
license. Occasionally on larger projects we will also
hire subcontractors (who work under the supervision
of our Lead Carpenter) to do framing, roofing, drywall,
and insulation work.
We find that our Lead Carpenter becomes
almost a member of the family during a project, and
that clients feel more comfortable with someone they
have gotten to know in their home producing and overseeing
all of the work. TOP OF PAGE
How does using a project manager differ from the lead
carpenter system?
You will find that most construction
companies operate with one or more project managers
who are responsible for several jobs at any given time.
The project manager will coordinate all the subs needed
and all aspects of the project, as do lead carpenters.
The difference is that project managers are monitoring
several jobs throughout the day by spending maybe an
hour or two at each project. While this management style
does not fit in with our business philosophy the project
manager system is widely used and respected throughout
the industry.

How do I get started?
Start with an initial consultation with
Bella Construction. In some cases drawings/plans are
needed in order to obtain accurate estimates. We work
closely with architects and designers and can work with
them to establish a plan that incorporates both your
vision and budget.

When does a client pay for products or services?
Typically one to three consultations
are needed before a contract is to be signed. At that
point a deposit will be required to proceed with permits
and material orders. Both parties will then agree to
a regular schedule of payments as work is completed.

How and when do I make final selections for the fixtures
and finishes which become a part of our home?
We at Bella Construction provide written
time lines for client awareness. In this time line you
will have notifications of selection dates for the phase
of construction needed. As part of our services you
will work with a selections coordinator to assist you
with selections. This coordinator works closely with
showrooms, catalogs, and merchants in our team giving
you endless resources and saving you valuable time.

Will I be able to live in the house amid construction?
We are very accustomed to working in
client occupied homes. Working with a lead carpenter
you can be assured that every effort will be made to
preserve your routine.

How messy will my renovation project be?
At Bella Construction we consistently stress the importance
of daily clean up. It is impossible to contain all of
the dust attributable to construction however a clean
site is a high priority to us. A professional cleaning
service is scheduled to clean after construction of
your project. This cleaning is included in the contract
price.
